Wichita is home to two large shopping centers, Towne East Square and Towne West Square. They are respectively located at either end of the city. Each has five major anchor stores and over one hundred tenants offering anything from iPhone leather cases to designer patio sets. The city's oldest mall, Wichita Mall, is now considered by most to be at the end of it's life cycle.

Towne East Square is a popular spot for shoppers. It is an enclosed, two-story space that, among it's more than 100 stores, has numerous dining and entertainment venues. The mall covers almost 1.17 million square feet and sells everything from aquarium test kits to major appliances. Its mainstay stores include Dillard's, Sears, JCPenney, Von Maur and Steve & Berry's.

You will find that Towne west store is similar, at almost 1 million square feet. It is also a great spot for the gift shopper or those seeking something special like organic baby lotion or the latest designs in name-brand sports wear. Similarly, its anchor stores are Sears, JCPenney, Montgomery Ward, Dillard's and Dick's Sporting Goods. It is also home to retailers like Victoria's Secret, Amy's Hallmark, Finish Line and LensCrafters.

One of the city's best shopping districts is Old Town. Found in the heart of Wichita, Old Town is famous for its historic buildings and homes throughout the East Douglas area downtown. It is home to amazing shopping and is a great place to find that vintage women's sweater or period Art Deco desk lamp. Old Town is also well known for it's wide array of antique and specialty shops. For an eclectic assortment of stores that offer exciting and unusual fashions, be sure to explore Old Town Underground.

Another shopping area to consider is the Delano District. One hundred years after being frequented by gunslingers, it is now one of the most refined areas in the state. You will find great home accessories there like unique, stylish vinyl wall sayings, ornaments and motifs. It includes specialty and gift shops offering fashion, novelties, home accents, souvenirs and the like.

You will also find big, outdoor shopping centers to the northeast and northwest of the city, New Market Square and Bradley Fair. Each has more than fifty stores amidst several acres of space. And, like most cities its size, numerous box-stores can be found outside of the downtown core. Consider their offerings and sale prices if you are looking for a major appliance, home or personal electronics.
